2020 Reunion Committee Only

This is more or less an attempt to get us all on the same page for the 2020 reunion,  I will list a few issues that we need to decide on to get started.  Of course there are other things that we'll need to deal with at some point, ie. mail-out invitations, name tags, Saturday night program planning, etc,

* Answer Required
1)   * Reunion Theme: I think we all agreed on the 50s theme for Friday party. What about having the weekend theme be our golden anniversary? Maybe someone can come up with a cute way to say it! We can work on the Saturday plans later! Please answer Yes or No for all weekend theme and comment further if you like.

The cost is $19.95 per person. The nacho's like we had in 2015 were $18.95. We pay according to the number of people and it's served like a buffet.

2)   * Friday night food! Since it's at a time when most people want dinner, how about the Hilton's "Tailgate" food which seems more in keeping with the 50's theme: Grilled Hamburgers and Bratwursts w/Buns, Condiments, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion & Pickles; Fresh Seasonal Fruit Bowl OR Garden Salad w/assorted dressings; Baked Beans or House-made potato chips, Coleslaw; Baked Cookies & Iced Tea or Lemonade.

With plated meals, Choice of Soup or Garden Salad, Warm Rolls with Butter or Garlic Bread, Chef’s Choice Vegetable and Starch, Chef’s Choice Dessert & Iced Tea with Fresh-cut Lemon and Coffee Service

3)   * Saturday Buffet vs Limited Food Choices: Although we had a buffet dinner at the 2015 reunion, we can have a hot plated dinner. We could give a choice of chicken, beef, fish and veggie. This is actually less expensive than doing the buffet.

Examples of plated: PRIME RIB $22.95 pp: 10oz. slow-roasted prime rib served with au jus & horseradish sauce. CHICKEN TUSCANY $18.95 pp: Chicken Tuscany topped with creamy lemon Tuscany sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, mashed potatoes, and vegetable medley.
CHICKEN PARMIGANA $19.95 pp: Chicken breaded and topped with mozzarella cheese, spaghetti or fusilli pasta. NEW YORK STEAK $30.95 pp: 10 oz broiled NY steak served in a mushroom and red wine sauce.
GRILLED TILAPIA $21.95 pp: Fresh grilled TILAPIA topped with Lemon butter sauce. SMOTHERED CHICKEN $20.95 pp: Grilled chicken breast topped with Mozzarella, sliced mushrooms, red and green peppers with an onion vinaigrette sauce. These are just a few. The buffet ($36.95 pp) includes 2 entrees, salad, 1 starch, 1 veggie, dessert, dinner rolls with ice tea or coffee.

4)   * Entertainment: Becky has suggested having classmates entertain us, ie Tom K & Les Thorton do a jazz (instrumental only) which might be good for dinner, Frankie Everett is doing beach style entertainment now and Jimmy Childs (Red Bone) does blues. Then there is Danny Roberts. All are good musicians, but in order to play some 60's oldies, they might need to have a practice or two. Thoughts?

We paid $600 for the band in 2015 plus, I think $200 tip that night. We might spend close to the $600 putting together our classmates.
